Penrose Sailmakers - Falmouth

Penrose Sailmakers was established in 1825 by a Mr Penrose to service the many sailing ships that called in to Falmouth. Although the traditional packet ships no longer call in to Falmouth, Penrose Sailmakers still occupies it's place on the quayside and is the last sail loft to do so. This means that we are able to offer water-bourne collection or you can bring the boat alongside Church Street Car Park (at high tide) immediately next to the loft.

Our team consists of people who are all keen water users and experienced sailors on craft ranging from dinghies to superyachts, small gaffers to square rigged ships, competing in National and World Championships as well as local racing and cruising. This gives us an excellent grasp of what our clients are looking for in the different sails that we can produce.

Apart from experience afloat our team have in the region of 100 years of combined sail making experience. This means that when you contact Penrose Sailmakers you will be speaking to a sail maker, not just a salesman, who will take a close interest in the project from start to finish ensuring that your expectations are exceeded. We believe that it is this that separates us from many other UK sail lofts who have resorted to importing sails that are mass produced in China South Africa and Malaysia as well as other Far Eastern countries.
